Restorative Yoga
Restorative yoga is a gentle and deeply relaxing practice designed to calm the nervous system and promote physical, mental, and emotional healing. It involves holding passive poses for an extended period, typically 5–15 minutes, with the support of props like bolsters, blankets, and blocks. These props allow the body to completely relax and release tension without effort.
The focus is not on stretching or strengthening but on creating an environment where the body can rest and restore itself. This practice activates the parasympathetic nervous system, which helps lower stress levels, improve sleep, enhance digestion, and support overall well-being.
Restorative yoga is suitable for all levels and is especially beneficial for those recovering from injury, managing chronic stress, or simply looking to slow down and reconnect with themselves.
